“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. “
I don’t think we are talking about houses here.
I remember a time when everything I did was really for one purpose; that I might preserve my own peace and happiness.
When I was kind, I would get kindness in return.
If I was generous, or thoughtful, or caring, or hard-working, I would get “strokes” of praise and approval. And, that seemed to work for the first twenty six years.
When my life was shown to me by The Wise One, I lost my sense that everything is fine, and that I had any control over what came my way.
He showed me that life is more than food, fun, and the praise of man.
He made me an offer that I didn’t want to refuse any longer.
He wanted to make His home in me.
“Put your outdoor work in order and get your field s ready; after that, build your house.” Prov. 24:27
Jesus talked once about having faith as small as a mustard seed, that when planted, grows into a massive plant.
My faith was probably more microscopic than that, but I planted it that day.
Construction began.
He provided the blueprint, the materials, the labor.
All I had to do was what He told me to do.
JOY became a fruit of my life.
He moved into my house way before construction was done.
He’s still building new rooms.
“A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.”
Proverbs 24:3-6 ESV“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Cor. 6: 19,20
