“The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.
A rebuke impresses a discerning person more than a hundred lashes a fool.
Proverbs 17: 3,10 NIVI remember my young years that I spent trying to hold on until I found the happy place again.
Happy felt good.
Not happy…bad.
A lot of the time, something would come along when things had been going so well, and I was so happy, that just flat knocked me down and ruined everything.
And, when this incident would happen, it would feel a lot like trying to escape a fiery building, and it would seem that there was no way out.
It might even feel like I was receiving a beating that just…would… not …stop.
But, there was always a way out, and the beating would stop.
And, since I would find the place of happy again, I couldn’t “see” the hand of the One that knocked me off my happy.
Until, one day, He gave me “eyes to see”.
And that is all I have to say.
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”
